It's amazing how much life can be brought into a photo just by the current season. When I last came to this spot in the winter, it was as dry as a bone. Naked trees, nature buried in snow, and just an overall slummy look to the entire place.
Come back in the summer, and damn is it ever nice. I didn't really realize it at the time of shooting this how nicely the nature in the background helps to balance the heavy blue in the middle. Absolutely some of my favourite colours in this one.
If you haven't seen my YouTube video on how to take better car photos (linked here), one of my tips details how to find locations to shoot at. I actually used the same method to find this spot here and I didn't even have to leave my chair!
This was actually a very spontaneous shoot too, as I literally just asked my brother if he wanted to go for a quick drive and shoot some photos. The ride down here was quite fun and luckily the spots in front of this wall weren't taken.
As I was uploading these onto Instagram (under my ghost account), I realized that there were a lot of stain marks on the pavement which became kind of distracting. I decided to try the Lightroom Mobile App to clone stamp some of these areas out and it surprisingly did a not so bad job!
My car is stock AF minus the license plate relocation, but damn this angle makes it look a bit tough. I think it all comes from the headlights with their sharp angles.. maybe a bit of the front bumper too.
God dang those stock wheels are looking nice. The next set I get I definitely want to go with something all black, and maybe while I'm at it painting the brake calipers the classic red - just for that little bit of pop.
I never really know how to end these car blogs, because I never really feel like it's supposed to end. Everyday I'm trying to create something new by either taking photos, editing old photos, or doing these blogs so for myself I always know there will be more content to share.
Maybe that will change in the winter? 🤔
