Buying a new car sets you through a whole range of emotions, or at least it did for me. From feeling nervous to committing to a financial plan of which you can't accurately say where you'll be in 'x' amount of years, to happy you will be getting a new car, and then back to nervous because the car you bought is used and you're not sure if it will break down within the first month of ownership.
I think we all go through it, and it's a great learning experience because if you're a car enthusiast, you'll likely buy a few cars in your lifetime and it's better to learn early.
Anyways, why am I talking about this? Well one thing I also experienced right after buying my B8.5 gen Audi A4 was that feeling of being apart of a "club". So naturally one of the first things I did was find Audi True North's Facebook page and joined with thousands of other Audi owners in the GTA area.
Quickly after joining the first meet/season opener was posted and I was stoked to go! So I did!
Going to this meet was probably one of the funnest experiences I had. As I was making my way up to PFAFF Audi in Vaughan beside Vaugan Mills Mall, I noticed one grey B8.5 A4 and one white B8.5 S4 rolling together. So naturally I pulled up a bit ahead of them and we had a nice cruise going on for a few minutes before I took a different exit than they did (as per my GPS's instructions).
Fast forward and I am now at the PFAFF Audi and I have to say, the dealership looks quite nice! Peeking through one glass I was able to see an Audi RS3 LMS which as I'm typing this, wish I took photos of... damn oh well.
To paint a picture of the scene, the front lot was somewhat small, but had a good amount of inventory and space in the back - including about 3 V10 R8's and a really nice looking RS7 in a green paint job that I had not seen before (on an RS7). Why didn't I take photos??
Back to the front. This A4 pictured above was an awesome sight, and the sound of it was crazy as it came in. The engine is from an S4 with an RS5 style front bumper, and inside the front driver and passenger door panels are about 10 speakers per door. Not to mention the two large bass speakers in the trunk!
In Toronto we have been experiencing such depressing weather that this day was nothing short of amazing. Minimal amounts of clouds in the sky, moderately warm if you were out of the shade, and great sunlight. I was very thankful that I was able to get my CPL filter for my lens otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get as good of shots.
I'm debating on what I should do for my A4.. whether I should opt to get the clean honeycomb grille in a gloss black or if I should just paint my current one to be a flat black like the S4 on the left... suggestions?
After attending this meet I also got better ideas as to what type of set of rims I would like for my car. I could see how seeing a whole set of options on cars similar to yours could make the buying experience easier.
Not sure if this was an A5 or S5 as it was debadged, but I just loved how low it sat at the meet with the carbon fiber lip. Props to the owner on this one, was really feeling it. For this shot I wanted to try something a little bit different than I normally do to show how low it was actually sitting. Using the pop out screen on my 80D, it was easy!
Overall it was a great experience being at this event and seeing what people have done to their Audi. Would definitely recommend to any Audi owners out there, and for people currently shopping around for new upgrades to their own car.
